It is with sadness that we announce that the Six Rivers Food Pantry will be closing at the end of the year. Here is a message from the director:
The difficult decision has been made to close the Six Rivers Food Pantry at the end of this year, and the final distribution will be on December 28th. After a careful evaluation of our resources, including the financial challenge and volunteer time, it was determined that the pantry is no longer sustainable.
There are no words to thank the volunteers who have worked so hard over the past 5+ years, our guests who have become like a second family, and the community members who have made donations.
Beginning in March, SWCAP will be scheduling a monthly Pop-Up food distribution (place and time to be determined yet.) In the meantime, you are encouraged to attend any of the Second Harvest mobile pantries in the area, and also to contact 211 (by calling “211” or searching for “211” online) for more resources.
