About Us

Our Mission

Six Rivers Food Pantry is a 501c3 nonprofit focused on supporting households in Southwest Wisconsin that are struggling with food insecurity. We believe that no one should go to bed hungry.

Our History

In 2019, Catholic Charities of Madison Wisconsin opened a food pantry in Cassville to serve a portion of Grant County where very few resources were available to help people whose incomes do not stretch enough to fully cover rent, utilities, transportation and food.    All operations of the pantry have been managed by teams of volunteers from the Village of Cassville, while the sponsor managed expenses, reporting and fundraising.

In early 2024, Catholic Charities determined it could no longer sponsor the Six Rivers Food pantry financially after March 31st.  Rather than see the pantry close and impact local households, a group of volunteers formed a nonprofit corporation, Six Rivers Food Pantry Inc., to take over responsibility for the food pantry.  We are currently planning and fundraising to continue operations through 2024 and beyond without interruption.

Our Team

Six Rivers Food Pantry thrives with the efforts of over 28 volunteers. Five teams cover the pantry hours each week. Several volunteers make weekly runs to local businesses who donate goods and food. Others donate their time to help with paperwork, events, and our onsite garden.

We are indebted to the generous individuals and organizations that ensure the pantry’s survival. Below are some of the organizations that have sponsored Six Rivers Food Pantry.
